General content

These are the core resources and are great tools regardless of where you are in your study cycle.

Getting through it all
Nadia Trustum talks us through the evolution of a primary candidate with tips on managing study and life balance. She somehow manages to normalise the horror of it all, inject a bit of humour and leaves us all feeling more hopeful than we began. Highly recommended!

Managing work-life-study

Steve Mac at the whiteboard
Dr Steven Mcilveen is a FACEM at Tamworth with a past life as a physiologist. He has recorded a series of lectures for this site exploring some of the common (and sometimes difficult to comprehend) physiology concepts that come up in the primaries. This is a truly excellent resource.
Developed to be watched in sequence as each video will build on earlier concepts, they are around 20-30 minutes long and are followed by a demonstrated physiology Viva question and answer.
So make a cuppa, sit back, relax, and let Steve show you how it all works.

The MCQs can be quite challenging – please use them as a test of your knowledge week by week and to help focus your studies. They have not been externally validated and should not be used as a guide for how you would perform in the exam. The Vivas have been selected to match our study guide weekly material and are taken from the ACEM’s released past Viva resources – they can be seen in full on the college website.
